Film fans are invited to spend a day in northern Spain without leaving 午夜福利.
The (SLCCS) presents the this Sunday, October 31.
Between 9am and 8pm there will be six free screenings including the two-part historical drama Veus del Pamano (Voices of Pamano River), set in 1943 following Spain鈥檚 Civil War.
Other films include the comedy Comida Para Gatos (Food for Cats), Lo Mejor de Mi (The Best of Me), and the documentary Catalu帽a 鈥� Espanya (Catalonia 鈥� Spain).
There will be a half-hour break for lunch and a cocktail reception following the final film.
鈥淲e see the festival as a celebration of Catalonian culture and give attendees the chance to observe the differences between Catalonia and mainstream Spanish culture and language,鈥� event coordinator Thomas Dunlop said.
The films have been provided by the Melbourne-based Casal Catal谩 de Victoria as part of its program for cultural co-operation between the Ministry of Culture in Spain and the Australian National University.
鈥淭his is the second year we鈥檝e held the event and we鈥檙e hoping it remains a key fixture on our calendar,鈥� Mr Dunlop said.
Attending as representatives of Catal谩 de Victoria are Llu茂sa Vilata and Angela Amoros, who will help introduce each film.
鈥淚ntercultural communication and cross-cultural language learning are key areas of study here at the school,鈥� Mr Dunlop said.
鈥淎ny chance to expose our students, the 午夜福利 community and the public to cultures and languages they otherwise would not be exposed to is a good thing.鈥�
