21 December 2004

Throughout January and February will run free hour-long tours of its picturesque St Lucia campus.

Prospective students and members of the public are welcome to view the world-class educational facilities and learn more about this vibrant sandstone University.

敁珗腦瞳s Dean of Students Dr Lisa Gaffney said tours would run on weekdays (excluding public holidays), beginning January 10, for individuals, families or groups.

The tours are designed to give visitors an insight into the Universitys facilities, which include impressive teaching, research and sporting amenities.

They will introduce potential students or interested visitors to the University environment, Dr Gaffney said.

All visitors will receive information about programs available at 敁珗腦瞳.

Campus tours will begin outside the Student Centre, Level 1, JD Story Building. They will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1011am and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3pm.

Participants should meet outside the Student Centre 10 minutes before the scheduled tour time. A member of the Student Recruitment Team will meet visitors, who are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and to bring a hat.

Dr Gaffney said 敁珗腦瞳s St Lucia campus, which can be accessed by car, bus or ferry, was considered by many to be Australias most attractive.

The campus is only seven kilometres from the CBD, allowing the tours to be one activity during a day in Brisbane for regional students and their families.

Dr Gaffney said the 285-acre St Lucia campus provided students with the perfect study, research and living environment.

敁珗腦瞳s gracious sandstone buildings, parklands and lakes encompass world-class teaching and research facilities, Dr Gaffney said.

敁珗腦瞳 is a stimulating place to study, combining the vitality of a modern campus, the friendly, accessible nature of Australian society, and the culture and tradition of an established university.
